The Sirata has been part of St. Pete Beach for more than six decades, and its long run has made it a multi-generational habit for many visiting families. The recent $25 million renovation went deeper than new paint: guest rooms were rebuilt with central air conditioning and hurricane-impact windows, the restaurants and dining areas were redone, and the pool and beachfront bar were updated. The Tapestry Collection affiliation, from June 2026, brings Hilton's reservation system and Honors points while the resort continues to feel independent. Room categories run from two-queen rooms to oceanfront junior suites and one-bedroom suites with Gulf views, many with balconies.
Day to day, the resort is built around the pool and the beach. Rum Runners, the poolside restaurant and bar, serves Floribbean food from breakfast through dinner with a kids menu, and the beachfront bar handles the afternoon. A daily resort charge covers Wi-Fi, bottled water, lawn and game-room activities such as cornhole, ping pong and foosball, boogie boards, instructor-led beach yoga, bicycle rentals, live music and a discount with the on-beach watersports operator, so families who use them get real value. Room craft: choose a Gulf-view suite for space and sunsets; standard rooms are good value if you plan to spend the day on the sand. Ask about the newest renovated categories when you book.
Practicals: 5300 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach; about 30 minutes from downtown St. Petersburg and around 45 from Tampa International. Self-parking carries a daily charge (there is no valet), and pets are not allowed. One honest note: the city approved plans in 2024 to add a JW Marriott and a Hampton Inn on the site, and although management describes them as stalled with no construction timeline, check for building work if you are booking far ahead. How it compares: The Luce about a mile north is smaller and more adult in mood; TradeWinds Island Grand just up the beach is the larger all-in family resort; the Sirata sits between them on scale and price. Fit: families, groups, reunions and beach-first value seekers.

The Don CeSar
★★★★★
The Pink Palace of St. Pete Beach — the 1928 Gatsby-era landmark rising flamingo-pink over the Gulf, with Egmont Key on its horizon, two pools in the sand, and the grande-dame service that made it the coast's postcard.

Opal Sands Resort
★★★★★
Every room faces the Gulf — a sleek, curved Clearwater Beach resort directly on the sand, with private balconies, a zero-entry pool, a full-service spa and the beach promenade at the door.

TradeWinds Island Grand Resort
★★★★★
St. Pete Beach's family mothership — a sprawling Gulf-front resort of pools, paddleboats on its own canals, the giant inflatable waterslide on the sand, and enough on-property program that the car keys gather dust.

The Hotel Zamora
★★★★★
The boutique by the island boats — Mediterranean-styled rooms at St. Pete Beach's quiet south end, a rooftop bar with 360 views from Gulf to bay, and the Pass-a-Grille lanes and Shell Key shuttle minutes from the door.
